Shelby’s New F-150 Raptor Is the King of Bro Trucks
  • Shelby has a new new performance package for the Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R.
  • The V-8 upgrade increases output to over 900 horsepower.
  • The V-6 package price starts at $51,995 and does not include the base truck.

Shelby America has been tuning Ford’s fiercest pickup truck for over a decade, and it has new packages for the latest F-150 Raptor. Neither truck is cheap, but both increase the truck’s capabilities and performance, with upgrades available for both the V-6 and V-8 powered Raptor and Raptor R models.

The V-6-powered 2024 Shelby Baja Raptor delivers 550 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost. It receives a one-piece heat shield, a performance intake tube, an open-air intake with a high-flow filter, and an aluminum intercooler.

The Raptor R variant, which packs the GT500’s supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 from the Mustang GT500, makes over 900 hp. Shelby adds a 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger and a Borla exhaust, while both Raptor variants receive a BDS suspension lift kit, 18-inch Shelby Raptor Flow forged wheels, 37-inch tires, and extra cooling.

Shelby also offers several exterior enhancements with the package, like its Baja Raptor hood with functional vents, a custom grille with LED lights, and a ton of branding. Steel bumpers add protection and utility to the Ford, featuring recovery points, two 10.0-inch LED driving lights, a 30.0-inch LED light bar, and vents. Even the rear bumper has two square LEDs.

The bed is another story, with a bed chase rack system that can mount two full-size spare tires, which is useful. But it’s so large that you there’s not much room for anything else.

Inside, Shelby adds its branding to the embroidered floor mats and the full-leather seat re-covers with red accents. Billet racing pedals and a serialized dash plaque complete the cabin upgrades.

The V-6 package starts at $51,995, while the V-8 Raptor R upgrade is $54,995. Neither price includes the base pickup, so these prices are on top of the Raptor’s MSRP. The 2024 F-150 Raptor starts at $80,435 (the price includes the $1,995 destination charge). The Raptor R package costs another $31,925. Shelby says the trucks are available in limited quantities, but did not specify how many it plans to produce.

The First Twin-Turbo Lamborghini Revuelto Makes Double the Power

  • Underground Racing is adding a twin-turbocharger system to thew new Lamborghini Revuelto.
  • The fully built engine will make 2,000 horsepower.
  • The stock Revuelto makes 1,001 horsepower.

The Lamborghini Revuelto is a worthy successor to the Aventador that it replaces. Fans had feared that the automaker would neuter the car and drop the V-12, but Lamborghini kept it alive for the new model, instead augmenting the engine with three electric motors. Aftermarket tuner Underground Racing plans to further alter the hypercar’s V-12 by adding its potent titanium twin-turbocharger system, which it previewed in an Instagram video published yesterday.

The upgrade should double the horsepower, with Underground Racing’s twin-turbo system using billet wheel Precision turbochargers. The goal is 2,000 horsepower, 999 more than stock. The Revuelto will receive a fully built engine along with the tuner’s proprietary JRR M1 engine management system.

The stock 6.5-liter V-12 hybrid churns out 1,001 hp and 793 pound-feet of torque. There’s no mention of the new torque figure, but the engine alone makes 535 pound-feet, which should also increase with the twin-turbo system. The Revuelto can reach 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds, and Underground’s upgrades should shave a few tenths of a second off that time.

If the company’s post is correct, this could be the world’s first twin-turbocharged Revuelto. However, we don’t expect it to be the only one for long. The Revuelto is sold out through late 2026, so we’ll see more of these on the road in the coming months and inside tuning shops who are eager to wring out every bit of performance from the hybrid V-12.

Skoda Desperately Tried to Make an Electric SUV Cool (And It Kinda Works)

We love Skoda, don’t we folks? The century-old Czech automaker always has some interesting forbidden fruit that we can only admire from across the pond. This year, leveraging its history in motorsport, Skoda built a pretty badass rally car based on one of its otherwise unassuming electric SUVs. This is the Skoda Enyaq RS Race concept.

Designed and built by Skoda Motorsport, the race division took a normal Enyaq EV and made it lower, wider, and lighter. Using biocomposite body panels incorporating flax fibers, and lightweight polycarbonate windows, the Enyaq RS Race is 661 pounds lighter than the standard Enyaq SUV. That puts it somewhere around 4,300 pounds in total.

Skoda

The concept sits 2.8 inches lower than the standard Enyaq, and is 2.8 inches wider at the front and 4.6 inches wider at the rear. It ditches the production dynamic chassis control suspension for a race-ready sports suspension with individual adjustments for the spring stiffness, compression, and rebound.

Visually, the Enyaq RS Race gets an aggressive aero kit with various vents and wings. It has a new lip spoiler and a larger grille opening for better cooling up front, a sizable spoiler in the rear for added downforce, and even a functioning NACA duct that channels air into the interior. Even the custom 20-inch wheels were designed to improve aerodynamics.

Two electric motors and an 82.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack power the concept, giving it 335 horsepower. Thanks to its generous weight loss, the Enyaq RS Concept will hit 62 miles per hour in less than five seconds, but it has the same 112-mph top speed as its production counterpart.

Just like a real rally car, Skoda Motorsport actually stripped the Enyaq’s interior. It now has a roll cage, a handbrake lever, an emergency fire extinguisher switch, safety foam panels, and instead of the traditional rack-and-pinion steering, this concept has linear steering with adjustable steering weight—as well as a new race-ready steering wheel. Don’t worry, Skoda kept the 13.0-inch touchscreen.

Will you ever be able to buy one of these? Unlikely. But it’s an interesting exercise in what’s possible for Skoda Motorsport moving forward. Johannes Neft, a Skoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development, says that the company is “trialing [the biocomposite parts] in motorsport,” and that they may use the material in “future implementation.”

Either way, it’s awesome.
